The Annual general Meeting of the FMPGC took place on Tuesday evening, the 18th November at the Flushing Village Club. It was attended by 47 members. The Acting Chairman’s report had been pre -circulated for members to read and covered the events and activities of the Club in the past busy year. Some interesting figures showed that the club now had 109 members, and between them the members totalled 11,430 hours of rowing on the water and the gigs had spent about 1900 hours out on the water! Toby Budd (Acting Chairman) thanked those on the committee who were standing down for their input and hard work during the past year.
Certain changes to simplify the Constitution of the Club were put forward and voted for by the members. Two new Trustees of the Club were appointed and the posts were kindly taken up by Andrew Pool and Paul Dale who join Guy English and Simon Thompson as Trustees for the Club.
There were some changes to the Committee and the composition of the committee for the coming year is: Chairman – Rodney Myers, Treasurer – Jeremy Stonehouse, Secretary – Danny Rundle
Committee: Andy Blake, Ali Johns, Bridget King, Dave Mathews, Neil Rogers, Helen Syrett
The next club event for which all tickets have been sold is the Christmas Party being held in the Tremayne Hall in Mylor on December 13th. Meanwhile a lot of rowing activity is continuing through the winter months with an eye on keeping fit and getting into form for next season’s regattas and of course the World Championships in the Isles of Scilly in May.
