Flushing fun race

Flushing & Mylor Pilot Gig Club were invited for the second year running, to join in the Fancy Dress Fun Racing at Flushing Sailing Club on Saturday 4th August.

First off were the working boats, making a spectacular sight in the Harbour as they turned off Flushing Sailing Club Quay and back out to Carrick Roads.

The finish off Flushing Quay enabled a fantastic and colourful spectacle.

In the Gig Racing, the gauntlet was thrown down this year by F&MPGC s Junior Crew, rowing Pinnacle they took on Ladies B (with a token man!) in Penarrow.

Starting off the Eastern Arm, the Juniors were given a 40 second head start and were determined to win the race this year .  and they did, in style with Ladies B  finishing just 20 seconds behind them at Flushing Quay to rapturous applause.

The Juniors were over the moon to have won their second trophy in two weeks and also went away with the honour of the Gig Crew in the Best Fancy Dress   watch out next year guys!
